Getting Started

Every athlete is unique. Generally, you’ll need strong sporting ability, solid academics, and a willingness to commit to both sport and study. We’ll review your profile for free and let you know your options.

No — but you will need a good level of English to succeed at university. If English isn’t your first language, you may need to take a test like IELTS or TOEFL. Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through this.

Yes! KARA Education works with student-athletes worldwide. Wherever you’re from, we’ll help you connect with U.S. colleges and opportunities.

Scholarships & Opportunities

These are the main college sports associations in the U.S. NCAA (Division I & II) has the biggest programs, NAIA offers great opportunities for international athletes, and NJCAA is for junior colleges (a great pathway into 4-year universities).

We support athletes in sports like football (soccer), tennis, golf, track & field, swimming, volleyball, baseball, and more. If your sport is played at U.S. colleges, we’ll help you find the right fit.

It depends on your talent and the program. Scholarships can cover part of your tuition, or in some cases, full tuition, housing, and meals.

Application & Process

The earlier, the better. Ideally 18–24 months before you want to start university, but we also help athletes on shorter timelines.

Academic transcripts, sporting achievements, a CV, and video highlights of your performances. We’ll help you put everything together professionally.

They’ll look at your game footage, achievements, and potential, but also at your grades and character. Coaches want well-rounded student-athletes.

Academics & Testing

Requirements vary, but solid grades are important. NCAA, for example, requires specific GPA levels. We’ll advise based on your academic record.

Some colleges require them, but many are now test-optional. We’ll let you know if your target schools require SAT/ACT.

If English isn’t your first language, yes — most universities will ask for one of these tests. We’ll help you prepare.

Life as a Student-Athlete

Typically 15–20 hours between training, gym, and matches — balanced alongside your studies.

Yes! You’re a student first and an athlete second. You’ll get to study your chosen subject while competing in your sport.

Universities offer academic advisors, tutoring, athletic trainers, and international student support. You won’t be on your own.
